Keila totals her baby

Dad woke up at 5am as usual for a Wednesday morning to play basketball. By the way he goes to bed at 1 am cause he works from 3 to 11:30 pm. Anyway after basketball Keila texts to say that she will be driving home and asked if we could mention her during family prayer. Well about twenty minutes later dad gets a call from a Idaho phone number and assumed it was uncle Matt, but in the background he could hear radios and sirens and had a bad feeling in his stomach, then he was informed that Keila had just got into a car accident. Well being a parent you always assume the worst. So after speaking to Keila and determining that things could have been a lot worst Dad picks Mom up from work and heads to Boise, Idaho to bring Keila home. On the way there one of the eye witnesses called to described what he saw and said " she must be blessed or living right" cause he didn't think who ever was in that vehicle could have survived. He also mention that she was able to keep the car under control and that she did nothing wrong. Anyway he stops to help and Keila said that he was so nice that she want to find his home address to send him a thank you card for all that did for her. Unfortunately nobody saw the name of the trucking company or the plates on the truck so he probably won't be held accountable for the near tragedy in our family. Dad informed Keila that we hadn't said family prayer yet when the accident happened and she said that she had said a prayer before she left so what happened, dad was quick to tell her that she was still alive and well. Dad said after seeing Keila's car had to say a quick prayer in his heart to thank our Heavenly Father for watching over Keila and allowing her to return home to our family. So after only getting 4 hours of sleep and about 12 hours of driving every one is home safely.

Pioneer Day 2010

This year we decided to party at the Francoms home, the same place Blake & La-Shana held their wedding reception. Beautiful back yard and lots of room for the little ones to run and roam till they wore themselves out. So we called La-Shana and she said it would be ok.

Spending time with our children is always the best. We miss Keila this year cause she was in Boise, Idaho.
Hi Keila. Miss ya, yah not really.

A little football, in our family there is always going to be a football or basketball or some kind of competitive game going on. In this case it was Blake and Mason Vs. Hunter and Barrett.

We also had a 3 on 3 basketball tournament. the teams were
-Dad, Jayden and Alan Jr
-Mikey, Ethan and Jazlyn (winners)
-Blake, Makenna and Barrett
-Uncle Alan, La-Shana and Drew
Dad was to busy trying to win we don't have any pictures, it was a lot of fun, lots of yelling and screaming. We had the rim set at 8 feet. So there was a lot of dunking and goal tending going on. This is when we miss Uncle Patrick, everytime we play back yard ball, old memories start flowing.

Here is the best part of family get gatherings. Fooooood!!!!!

Hunter, La-Shana and Blake. We have been really fortunate this summer having Blake and La-Shana home. They have pretty much raised the kids for us. The kids leave the house every morning at 8am and spend the day hanging out with the Francoms and having a great summer.

Grandpa and Eden. Just relaxing around the pool.

Didn't take any pictures of the fireworks. Cause the fireworks we had was all illegal. But they were the best.

Big Sis. I don't think she can read, the book is for looks. (who are you trying to impress) Ha ha..........

Grandma must really work hard at their calling, she did a lot of relaxing

Even Max had a ton of fun and it took a lot to keep Max out of the pool.

Cub Scouts

Sunday evening Hunter went to bed early, knowing that he had to be out of bed bright and early cause he had a day camp out that began at 7:00 am. Dads a Webelos leader so he had to juggle scouting and his work schedule.
The morning started out a little cold but it warmed up really quick.
The picture above is a team building activity
Here the boys got to shoot BB guns

Hunter had a lot of fun, his description of the day was " it's the best day so far this summer" Dad was glad to hear it.

Hunter learning to fold the flag.

Rock climbing

The Boeing station, they were able to assemble a jumbo jet.

Then they got to assemble and launch rockets, Hunter had one of the best rockets if it wasn't the best. I know he had fun with this activity.

Man Date @ Yuba

Instead of leaving early in the Morning so that we can find a good location set up a canopy and keep the steaks on ice and all the things that come with a man date on the lake, the Danny calls at 2:oo pm and asked if Dad wanted to join Kevin, Mark and himself on a man date.
It was a short trip to Yuba, a lot closer than we thought and it was the first time for everyone at Yuba.

The water was was great, a little choppy but when you're tubing who really cares. Yuba had a lot to offer a group or family, camping sites beaches and of course, water.
All you need is some good company and enjoy the outing.

Dad said no pictures please, but as you can tell nobody listen to that order. You can see he could stand to lose a few or more pounds.

Especially around the waist area. Maybe with La-Shana home for the summer it will happen, she comes over to the house and takes food away from him and follow it up with you don't need that, and it was a really good bag of potato chips, but to dad they are all really good bags of chips. (for your info La-Shana dad had a whole bag of Doritos on the boat).

Prices Vs the Francoms

So we decided to challenge the Francom's to a tennis match and that did not work out to well for the Price's.
Dad called La-Shana and asked if they wanted to play tennis and that Keila was his partner, she giggled and asked if he had seen her hit the ball, he figured how bad could it be right, well the score was 6-2,6-1 .
But by the time we were done Keila actually came around and saved a few points, but a little to late.
Still a lot of laughs and Dad needed the exercise.

Hunter and Makenna played on the court next to us. Sorry no pictures.
Dad said that he and Mom had to play the Francom's, really how much worst could it be.
Below is Max quenching his thirst. I think Keila finished the rest of the water off. ( a must watch)

4th July (Bear Lake)

Well it is the fourth of July weekend, long weekend, no work, just sitting around eating...yummy ohh and resting. Lets not forget the good company. Here we are on the road again headed for Idaho, Soda Springs Idaho.

On the way there we had to call Uncle Troy to ask a few questions that he and no one else could have answered.
So during the conversation with the Sariahs we did some catching up and were informed that Tae has a Polynesian dance competition coming up on the 24th of July and to see if we can make it. Well we had to inform Aunty Wanda that in the Great state of Utah the 24th of July is Pioneer Day. It's a day we remember those faithful members of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints that had been asked to make the trek across the wilderness to what is now Salt Lake City, Utah.

So we told them that it would be impossible cause it's Pioneer Day and we also bought a lot of illegal fire works in Idaho. Now for those that are not from this amazing state we celebrate with fire works! good food relaxation.
After arriving Uncle Matt took us out to the gun range to fire his mini 14

Dad was responsible for the ammunition and forgot them at the house so Uncle Matt had to drive back to the house to retrieve them. While he was away it gave us the opportunity to light off some of the fire works we purchased.

That evening we lit a Bonn fire in the field behind the Finlayson's home and roasted hot dogs. The evening was great but it got cold, really cold if you can imagine it cold in the summer.

Don't recall what was so funny, but this weekend gave Uncle Matt and our Dad time to talk and compare stories. Dad said it was good and informative to sit down with Uncle Matt and to be assured that life is good all will work out and that we had to trust our kids more. We really do have good families and we love them all.

The following morning we attended Soda Springs 4th of July Parade. The little ones really had a ball. The weather was amazing and so was the local entertainment.

Here's Mom exhausted, try to catch a little shut eye before the parade started.

Lots and lots of candy, what kind of parade would it be with out candy. Dad said that growing up in the Cook Islands that was one of his fondest memories...lots of candy at the parades

Ethan Timoko soaking up the sun almost in the middle of the road.

Hummmm...the queens of Heart. (sometimes) haha.....

After the parade we travelled to Bear Lake. Windy yet satisfying. Good company and good food, the water was not that bad either.

Then we had to return home....Boo. Time with the family is to short, days are not long enough.
Well we are planning a Lagoon day, so we'll see how that plays out.

Buddy's Birthday

Well 12 years, we inherited a kitten that our dad did not approve of, but one of moms friends just dropped it off and left. To cut a long story short we took him in and named him Buddy, and that's just what he became. We don't have a exact date of birth, but we got him in July. Since then he has been a great addition to our family and we all love his mere presents. He has created so many memories for our family, mostly emotional. We took Buddy camping up Nephi canyon when he was a kitten and lost him. Sunday morning we returned home broken hearted cause we couldn't find him. While at church Mom and Dad decided to return to look for him and had no success, so they returned to church to join the rest of the family.
That evening we said a little prayer in our hearts and returned to the camp site and called for him.
He camp running out of the trees purring and meowing. We could all stop crying now.
That among other stories that we have of him has drawn our family closer to him. He has even been accused of stealing car keys by guests in our home. Over all as you can see in the pictures that he's the king in our home, even Max our family dog respects him. So we decided today is as good as any to celebrate his Birthday.
